Paua Shell Earrings

Paua Shell is found only in New Zealand coastal waters. According to Maori legend, Paua was a special gift from Tangaroa, the god of the sea. Paua Shell is the most colourful of all abalone shells and is prized for its vibrant and lustrous colour.

It is a mollusk renowned as a local seafood delicacy and Maori traditionally use the shell within wood carvings.
