Neuseeländische Greenstone
Pounamu or Greenstone is the name for nephrite jade stone, which is found in rivers in certain regions of the South Island of New Zealand. It plays a very important role in Māori culture and is considered as a “Taonga” (a treasure). It is an extremely robust stone that traditionally was carved and polished to create tools, weapons and beautiful jewellery.
